Gift-giving, holiday greetings
Surge of happiness everywhere abounds
Hugs and kisses, laughs and smiles,
If only we were like this all-year round.

a candy cane on our Christmas tree

Aside from the standard jolly Christmas carols and merry tunes, this is by far my favorite modern day Christmas song. Several popular British and Irish artists came together in 1984 to send a message of awareness of starving children in Ethiopia. The group called themselves Band-Aid, which doubles as a meaning of healing. The song "Do They Know It's Christmas" is a collaboration of several artists such as Linda Ronsdtat, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Bono of U2, George Michael, Bananarama, David Bowie, Boy George, Paul McCartney and more artists.

The reason why I haven't been able to blog lately is because December is such a busy month.

On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me...

lots of list-a-making,

several gifts-a-giving,

envelopes-a-sealing,

many cards-a-sending,

morning church-a-going,

priests and lords-a-leaping,

pairs of maids-a-walkin',

fit & dress-a-grooming...

2 golden rings !

4 loving parents

3 of us to merge

2 turtle doves

& a union in a pair tree.

Let's face it, Halloween isn't a traditional Pinoy celebration. It's popularly known as American tradition surrounded by the premise of scaring people and dressing up in costumes imitating popular personalities, fictitious characters and pop culture icons.

Some exclusive villages and subdivisions do celebrate Halloween's tradition of knocking at houses' doors and exclaiming "Trick or Treat!", hoping for treats in the form of candies. Some people though would rather offer a "trick" than a "treat".

A couple of nights ago, a couple of kids gathered in front of our gate. I thought it was an early Halloween "trick or treat". I was surprised to find out that they were singing Christmas carols. It's either these kids got their holiday dates mixed up or they're really excited about Christmas.

I feel that I was on the end of the "trick".
