After witnessing a scandal several years back, I never thought I'd see one in person again and so close and upfront and this time in a park, the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife.
There were lots of romantic couples there but this couple was sort of an exhibitionist. Still, they were kinda shy cause they knew people were watching them so they turned their back on us but continued their pre-valentines lovemaking.

I was in church earlier and couldn't help notice the rather large hole on the jeans of the lady in front of me. I thought at first it was just part of the design like with other ripped jeans style. But this one was located in a rather compromising location (her butt) and was kinda revealing.
I was thinking how do you tell someone something like that without being shy about it and without embarassing the person ? I don't think it can be done without entering an awkward situation.
And so I say that it's the person's responsibility to check their physical appearance before going out to the public... and to constantly check. If by unfortunate circumstances your clothes get ripped, stained or some insect is crawling on you, I'd say you should be the first to know than someone else.
It's not easy though, as I remember years back, I was rushing to work and while I was walking, a lady told me that my shirt was inverted. I checked the tag and she was right. It was so embarassing and I was nowhere near a place to change. Thinking of whether to ignore my shirt and hope no one would notice it or change in public, I decided to change instead and looked for a car so I could hide beside it while inverting my shirt. It was embarassing but I learned that no matter how late I was and hurrying that day, I should've checked my shirt.
What's more embarassing was one time, I wore 2 entirely different shoes. And I didn't notice it until after 20 minutes. No wonder my feet felt uneven. You could imagine the extreme shock on my face to find out that my left shoe was brown and my right one was black. I didn't mind being late that day. I knew that I had to fix my shoes or endure the embarassment the entire day.
Be responsible and avoid the embarassment.

My cousin had her despedida last night cause she's going to Canada to work. We kinda grew up together as kids. We didn't get to see each other often even if she just lives two houses away from us but whenever there were some events or gimmicks, she was my backup partner in crime and I was the same for her. I remember she had me tag along her date when a commercial model was courting her (I was a kid back then and so I was just happy for the free food). I was her escort when she joined Miss Marikina (and the smallest escort among all). She was my dance partner when I wanted to go clubbing. We used to team up during Christmas reunions where she'd sing and I'd play on keyboards. We could also pass for brother-sister cause we look alike (Needless to say, she's pretty... LOL!). We'll still be able to keep in touch via the internet so that's cool.
And at the same time last night, my other childhood friend arrived from the States. I haven't seen her in more than a decade and the last time she was here was like 20 years ago. We've been able to send some Christmas greeting cards and letters through the years when the internet was't that popular yet and for the past few years, I got to exchange e-mails with her sister who goes online more than she does so we still get to be in touch. Their family has been friends with our family too.
Looking back, it's funny that in one night you can say hello and goodbye, wish one well and welcome another, both start and end missing someone and simultaneously be sad and happy. One finally comes back from thousands of miles away while one leaves to travel thousands of miles distant. It's the balance of life.

And just recently, when I told my friend about it, he gave me a youtube link of the commercial. OH NO ! Just when it was almost completely out of my system, it resurfaces again !

With the advent of MP3 players, I really haven't been listening to radio anymore.
However lately, I've been listening to this radio talkshow on 97.1 LSFM called "Talk To Papa". Blame it on the time I usually go out for errands, which is why I get to listen to them. They go on air from Mondays through Saturdays from 1pm - 3pm.
The show is composed of the tandem 2 DJ's known as Papa Kiko and Papa Bear. Their format is that they take phone calls from people who have problems. The calls range from serious to outright crazy. The myriad of calls come in several forms, matters of the heart, relationships, family, money to just about anything you could think of. They market the show as a way of releasing your problems if you seem to hide it from people. And what better way of revealing it but to a listening audience of the thousands !
The 2 DJ's give their advice but a bulk of the answers come with lots of spontaneous jokes which liven up the show. Some of the phone-in questions are hilarious as well like this one:
Papa Bear: Talk to Papa...
Caller: Masama po loob ko sa magulang ko.
Papa Bear: Bakit naman ?
Caller: Kasi pinangalan nila akong "Jollibee". Kaya tinutukso ako palagi sa school na kung kelan children's party, papaburger at kung anu-ano pa ?
Papa Kiko: Ano bang mga magulang yan ? Baka naman mahilig sila sa Jollibee. At least palagi mo makikita ang name mo in big red letters kahit saan !
Papa Bear: Pasalamat ka hindi ibang fastfood name... baka masagwa !
Papa Kiko: Oo nga, eh kung tinawag kang "Value Meal" kaya ? O diba ?
They do give sound advice in one way or another. But they answer the questions in an entertaining way...especially if they ask the caller for more details and throw in punch lines here and there.
Some caller questions alone are hilarious already to begin with and so expect a hilarious and crazy answer too.
Papa Bear: Talk to papa....
Caller: Gusto ko lang po itanong kung pwede magluto ng sinangag na walang bawang ?
Papa Bear: Magandang tanong yan. Pwede naman. Alam mo kung sino gumagawa niyan ?
Caller: Sino ?
Papa Bear: Mga bampira ! Kaya gamit nila sibuyas na lang, kahit nakakaiyak. (laughter)
Ok. The jokes can be as lame as possible, but their laughter and timing of delivery can make the laughter infectuous. It's like being with your barkada and everybody adds a punch line to a never-ending joke.
I hope you get to try to listen in one time. Who knows... you may end up Talking To Papa.

I was ordering food at one of the food stalls over at Trinoma and while waiting for my food to be served, I happened to notice their humungous rice cooker. I was astonished when I saw the huge rice cooker and was thinking how many cups of rice can that baby produce.
That was until I saw what was labelled on the side.
3D, Hanabihisi, Kyowa and the rest of the rice cookers, move over. It's powered by Microsoft and it says it's also equipped with Microsoft Media Player. LOL!
If it only had an SD card slot so I can listen to my MP3s while waiting for rice to be cooked! Now that's steaming hot ! hahaha!

I wonder though if they'll give you change for P109.

One thing few people know about me is that I'm a Transformers fan. But to be more specific, I'm what you call a G1 fan (Generation 1) or in layman's terms, the very first issues of the Transformers when it was commercially released in the US around 1984. It's that specific, because Japan released the Transformers (as diaclones and just the toys without any storyline or background behind each robot) before the US even adopted it and turned it into a cartoon.Since then, there have been several generations. There's G2 (Generation 2), Headmasters, Targetmasters, Destrons, Beast Wars, Minicons, Animated and many more I fail to recall.
One of the most common characters in all generations, be it in a different form or variation each time is the character Optimus Prime, who is usually the Leader of the Autobots (the good guys). If I'm not mistaken, this character has been the robot with the most toy releases and variations ever.
Last Christmas, courtesy of sweetie, I got my most prized Optimus Prime possession, the original and classic G1 release. I used to have a miniture replica when I was little, but it got washed away by a flood many years ago. It's just awesome.
And so to add to my collection of Optimus Primes, is Optimus Prime. :)

I remember making New Years Resolutions years back just for the sake of having one but not religiously following it or making a conscious effort to follow it.In 2008, I made my most ambitious and challenging list and I can happily say that I was able to complete (to a certain degree) 5 out of 10. Possibly a passing grade for school standards but a great feat for me and I'm settling with it.
So here are the five on my 2008 New Years List that I've completed.
1. Be debt-free. (1/2 point)
- Well almost. I had 3 credit cards (one for company and two personal). At the last quarter of the year, I was able to nearly zero-out one card and intends to terminate that one.
2. Built 5 new websites. (1/2 point)
Well I wasn't able to build 5. I was able to buy some domains with the intention of pursuing this. Originally, this resolution meant to be sites of my own. But since I was able to create some websites for a couple of clients and friends, I'm counting them here.
3. Exercise more. (1/4th point)
I wasn't able to exercise as much as I wanted. I bought a couple of dance workout videos but it was more of lack of space in the house which hindered me from actually working out regularly and was confined to a cramped up room where I accidentally hit or kicked my bed, wall and electric fan in the process of exercising. Got me more bruises than exercise. So my exercise routines came in the form of using the stairs wherever I go and occasional brisk walking inside a mall. I also love that device you wear to calculate the number of steps you actually take. I never knew I could take 3,000 steps inside a mall and not feel like I was exercising. Compared to my 2007 exercise regiment (which was close to non-existent), this is an improvement.
4. Get more sleep. (1/4th point)
I'm usually still up around midnight and 1-2am is the average time I go to sleep. Waking up around 6-7am gives me only 5-6 hours of sleep. So how did I actually get more sleep ? I was able to take (or more like my body decided it for me) naps during the late afternoons. So around 5-7pm, my body would be looking for rest. If I rebooted my computer during this time, I would instantly fall asleep before the computer could restart. I guess what I need to do is find a way to bunch up all my sleeping times into one long one. The late afternoon naps are dangerous when I'm not at home. I have to keep myself awake then.
5. Be less cranky and confrontational with parents. (1 point)
Ok, there are still a few here and there, but it was kept at a pure minimum and I'd say it was effortless. If you just accept things you can't change nor control at face value, then it relieves tension and pressure. There are many correct ways of doing things. I will not debate whether it is the most efficient and straightforward way if it would cause high blood or stress. Just accept it. Case in point: My dad will always ask me how to use the VCD and DVD player no matter how many times I've taught it to him. (Akala nyo serious emotional family matter noh ! Nope, just the petty things).
6. Learn new technologies and use them. (1 point)
I'm a web developer and consultant. But my skills are kinda outdated. So I took it upon myself to learn newer web technologies. This year, I resurrected my Ebay hobby and got to try out new tips and methods in selling. I took up a web client to force me to enhance my skills in Content Management Systems. And I also got to learn more about Google and its vast services, thanks to Aileen.
7. Answer e-mails promptly. (fail)
This is one thing that is gonna be carried over to my 2009 New Years Resolution. I have a bad habit of selectively answering newly received e-mails and then stop after answering a few. So as long as there is new e-mail, I will never get to those e-mails older than them. I guess it's also because I know that not all e-mails require a simple reply. Some involve additional time needed before answering it (like submitting a document that you have to create or submitting statistics that you have to compute first before you could send them). I want a clean inbox now !
8. Process new files immediately. (1/2 point)
I have a repository directory with all new files with subdirectories containing the date. If this directory gets long, I panic and start processing them. But if there aren't many subdirectories, I tend to let them pile up until I panic. So I'm giving this 1/2 point cause I only process new files immediately when there have been new files coming in on a daily basis.
9. Make long term plans. (1 point)
This is one resolution I was constantly doing and thinking of for the entire 2008. So if I could give an additional half point for this, I would. And since I own this list, I won't mind if I will.

10. Visit this list once a month to check if being followed. (fail)
I realized I had a New Years Resolution around mid June after I celebrated my birthday. So I wasn't able to revisit my list for the first half of the year. Then I checked the list again before Christmas since remaining days for 2008 were numbered.
I'm going to recycle some of those partially fulfilled resolutions in my 2009 New Years Resolution list and add new ones. Hope I get a better score next year !

I didn't know this mall existed until I was invited to Richard Poon's special mall show at the Eastwood Mall. I thought that mall was the small one connected to the parking lot. I then discovered that across the road where all the shops and restaurants where the usual nightlife goes on, is a new area built to become an addendum to Eastwood's amenities. It's called the Eastwood Mall which has 4 floors inside with various shops, and a pleasant and relaxing exterior serving as an outdoor park with beautiful landscape. The place is much more quieter and less busy than the main artery of Eastwood Walk going around the Eastwood Central Plaza. It may be because this mall opened just mid November 2008 and shops and stores are yet to all be fully rolled out.
I remember a few years back, this area used to be a parking lot. Then several buildings were constructed. I thought that it was going to be a business district with all the high-rise buildings there. I didn't know that these buildings were covering what is now a mall and large landscape.
The mall looks a bit similar to Greenbelt 5 with similar lighting and spacious floors but even though how classy e mall looks, I'm glad that the selection of shops do not only cater to high-end shoppers and big spenders but to everyone. The fact that shops like Bench, Penshoppe, Human, Maldita and soon to open shops Watson's and McDonalds. The mall also has a couple of cinemas at the top floor and a huge Timezone arena for children (and gameplayers like me) plus a cozy Starbucks coffee shop. Basement parking is available for mallgoers as well.
