OFWs Get Advanced Voting Priviledges

Monday, March 22, 2010

I got this info from the Pinoys in Thailand newsletter. Seems that while the campaigning period is warming up here in the Philippines, Filipinos in Thailand who registered with the Philippine Embassy can actually start voting as early as April 10.

For registered overseas abssentee voters who have received their electoral mails, you may send your officials ballots back to the Embassy ahead of the voting period which is from 10 April 2010 to 10 May 2010. Once received by the Embassy, your ballots will not be opened but kept in a ballot receptacle for counting on 10 May 2010, 6 pm, Philippine time.

For the Filipinos abroad who plan to vote, you can do your research on each candidate by checking them out online. Most if not all candidates in the presidential, vice-presidential and senatorial race have their own official websites.

Vote wisely !
